Albemarle County Medical Society

About

The Albemarle County Medical Society (ACMS) was established in 1933.  ACMS offers an opportunity for a diverse group of academic and community physicians who practice or reside in Albemarle or each of the surrounding counties to advocate for patients and for their profession and  to share in educational and social events.  Members may be in private practice, serve as employees, be medical students or resident physicians, or be retired and come from many specialties and have varying interests.  The society meets 8 months per year running from September through May–see the Events page for upcoming meetings.  One of these monthly meetings represents an annual meeting, usually in September, at which the President of Medical Society of Virginia is the speaker.  The location of these meetings alternates between the Kessler Conference Room at Martha Jefferson Hospital Outpatient Center and the Boars Head Inn in Charlottesville, VA and University of Virginia.
